The McCandless Community Association welcomes two new board members!
Jennifer Shuckrow, Esq. and Jay Sperling
|Jennifer (Anke) Shuckrow is has lived in McCandless Township for almost four decades. She is a 1987 graduate of North Allegheny and a 1991 graduate of Mount Holyoke College (South Hadley, MA). Additionally, she holds a juris doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (1994). After practicing law for several years, she served as an administrator at Chatham College and Muskingum College (New Concord, OH). She retired from the workforce when her youngest child was diagnosed with an intractable seizure disorder. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children and participates in several other community organizations. Jennifer’s husband, Alan, practices at the downtown law firm of Strassburger, McKenna, Gutnick & Gefsky. They have two children, Zachary (18) and Abigail (14).|
|Jay Sperling, MPCC is excited to be part of this community organization to help make a difference in an already great community. A 1990 graduate from North Allegheny he is the supervisor and funeral director at Sperling Funeral Home in McCandless. Jay holds a bachelor degree in Psychology from University of Pittsburgh, Master’s in Community Counseling from Duquesne University and is also a Licensed Professional Counselor. He runs bereavement support groups for Anchorpoint Counseling Ministry. Jay is active in the sport of lacrosse; coaching and running the Arrow Lacrosse program. He is married to Stephanie and they have three children; Noah, Kinsey and Gretchen.|
